Two Arsenal stars who could replace Martin Odegaard after injury and one who may change position

Arsenal are still facing some injury concerns this season, following a campaign filled with issues last time out.

Mikel Arteta’s side were impacted by absences and ultimately finished second, resulting in a summer of spending that aimed to improve the squad’s depth.

That has been on display so far for Arsenal, with several injury concerns being handled well by the options available.

Arteta will have to dig deep again, as a knee injury for Martin Odegaard is set to keep him out for at least one month of action.

Some replacements will be needed for the Norwegian playmaker as a result, with several stars available to play the role.

So, with that said, here’s a look at three Arsenal players who could replace Martin Odegaard.

Eberechi Eze

Perhaps the most natural replacement for Odegaard will be Eberechi Eze.

The 27-year-old is most comfortable operating either on the left or as the number ten, as has been shown in his appearances so far.

Given his arrival for £67.5 million over the summer, Eze was signed for moments like this, where he can make an impact.

The England international has one goal and two assists so far for Arsenal, as he looks to make that number ten shirt his own.

Ethan Nwaneri

Arsenal sealed a new contract for Ethan Nwaneri over the summer, ensuring that he has a long-term future at the club.

The youngster now has to prove that he can be the one to take up the playmaker role.

Nwaneri is yet to make a start in the Premier League this season, with four appearances coming from the bench.

Last season saw the 18-year-old often operate on the right, but his future appears to be as a number ten.

Odegaard’s injury is an unfortunate one, but it could open the door for Nwaneri.

Kai Havertz

While Odegaard is out injured, there could soon be a return for Kai Havertz.

The German international has largely played as a striker since signing for Arsenal, but that could soon change.

With the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres, there could be a partnership that grows between him and Havertz.

While the Swedish international wants to stretch the backline, his German teammate is often looking to drop deep and connect the play.

It’s the sort of combination that could impact the opposition both ways, with a chance for Havertz as the number ten to impress, in a role he hasn’t played for quite some time.
