Celtic have recently been linked with Bnei Yehuda midfielder Ismaila Soro.
According to The Daily Record, Celtic have sent scouts to watch Soro this season. Representatives from the Scottish Premiership champions were present at his most recent game; a 2-1 away victory over Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
Bnei Yehuda rate Soro highly and will demand £3m if Celtic firm up their interest with a concrete bid. Celtic have not yet decided whether to press ahead with this deal but he does feature on a list of potential new additions.
Soro plays in central midfield. Prior to his move to Israel, he played in Moldova and Belarus. The 21-year-old has now racked up more than 50 senior appearances for Bnei Yehuda since his switch in 2018.
The Ivory Coast midfielder has picked up some European experience this season, too. That would prepare him well for a move to Celtic Park.
A few Celtic fans took to Twitter to discuss these latest transfer rumours. There is a mixed response as most fans have never seen him play. Here are some tweets about Celtic’s reported interest in Soro.
Said he was a playmaker but having watched a few clips online he sits in front of the back four as a defensive midfielder that breaks up play and wins the ball back
