Besiktas may be struggling at the moment, but there a still a few players in their team Wolverhampton Wanderers must be particularly wary of when the teams meet in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Turkish giants currently occupy the Super Lig’s relegation zone after an awful start to 2019/20, and were thrashed 4-1 by Trabzonspor at the weekend.
Wolves will be feeling confident ahead of the clash having secured their first Premier League win of the season against Watford on Saturday.
Besiktas are in something of a sorry state right now, but Turkish journalist Kaan Bayazit – and avid follower of the club – reckons the Premier League side should be mindful of a handful of their players despite the early struggles.
He told The Birmingham Mail: “I think (Georges-Kevin) N’Koudou – he’s very quick. You guys will know him from his sporadic appearances for Tottenham, and he’s also been on loan at Burnley. He’s not a great finisher or crosser but he’s really quick and a great dribbler. He’s dangerous.”
Bayazit also believes Burak Yilmaz and Adem Ljacic could both pose problems for the Black Country club at Vodafone Park.
On paper it’s a daunting trip for Wolves but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side should be confident of getting three points.
If they can succssfully contain the likes of N’Koudou, Yilmaz and Ljacic then they should have a great chance of doing that.
Former Tottenham Hotspur winger N’Koudou – who joined the club in a reported £4.6 million deal this summer (Evening Standard) will likely be well up for a game against English opposition, after failing to convince during his three years in north London.
Wolves will hope to nullify the Frenchman, and come through with another good showing in the competition.
