Arsenal were handed a timely boost as Laurent Koscielny returned from injury in last night’s victory over Napoli.

At The Emirates Stadium, Koscielny helped Arsenal to a clean sheet and a 2-0 win against Napoli in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Koscielny came through the full 90 minutes which boosts Unai Emery’s options ahead of the run-in.

Having the veteran Frenchman back in defence will help Arsenal in their quest to finish in the top four and to challenge for the Europa League.

Koscielny had been sidelined for a month with his last appearance in a match coming against Rennes in the Europa League.

With Shkodran Mustafi struggling for form, Arsenal fans will be delighted to see Koscielny back at the heart of the defence.

The 33-year-old operated at the centre of a back-three and looked confident and composed when dealing with any threat from Napoli.

Koscielny will now be hoping to keep his place for next Monday’s deceptively tricky trip to Watford in the Premier League.
