Under the stewardship of Leeds United’s under-23 stalwart Hugo Diaz, the young Whites picked up yet another comfortable victory.
Carlos Corberan named a strong squad for Charlton Athletic’s trip to Elland Road last night with the likes of Jack Clarke, Ryan Edmondson, Mateusz Bogusz and Kun Temenuzhkov all playing.
Diaz captained the side and impressed yet again by helping Leeds to a clean sheet. Goals from Stevens, Temenuzhkov, Struijk and Bogusz completed a 4-0 win.
For his work on and off the field for the under-23 team, Diaz once again impressed Leeds fans last night. The 22-year-old had time to sign autographs for young fans after a dominant central defensive performance.
The next step for the Spaniard would be to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s plans, although the form of Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper makes that a difficult task.
Diaz has played one senior game so far in his career and is yet to feature under Bielsa. But he will be hoping to get a chance if he continues to show leadership and solidity for the under-23s.
Below are some things Leeds fans are saying about Diaz after last night.
