Tottenham Hotspur fans are already reeling from Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking as manager last night. One thing they will not want to also happen is to lose one of the club’s best young players.

However, it seems as though Bayern Munich are ready to try their best to do just that.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Bayern want Tottenham’s Irish striker Troy Parrott. The report claims that Bayern have seen the success Borussia Dortmund had in the English youth market with Jadon Sancho and want to look out for ‘similar, potential coups.’

Sancho joined Bayern’s German rivals from Manchester City, amid interest from Spurs, and as reported by Reuters, is now valued at €140 million (£120m).

They missed out on Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi last season but have now turned their attention to Parrott, who recently made his debut for the Republic of Ireland national team.

TBR’s View

Parrott has been on the cusp of first-team action at Tottenham this season and did make his debut during the EFL Cup loss to Colchester United.

However, he will undoubtedly be tempted by a move to Germany considering Bayern’s prestige.

The departure of Pochettino could also play a role, considering the Argentine has given him a chance this season.

With Parrott’s current deal expiring in 2021 Tottenham will need to secure his long-term future soon or the German side will undoubtedly look appealing to the Spurs youngster.
