Troy Parrott has posted on Instagram after the Irish striker agreed a new-three year deal with Tottenham Hotspur that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2023 – and Dele Alli reacted.
One-time Ireland international Parrott, 18, has broken into Tottenham’s senior side this season – starting in the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Colchester United, and coming on as a substitute in the Premier League win over Burnley.
Parrott has starred for the club’s youth teams – scoring nine goals in nine UEFA Youth League games and netting 17 times in 14 outings for the Under-18 side. He has also scored four goals in 13 appearances for Tottenham’s Under-23 side.
He could be in line for more action this season after Spurs failed to sign a new striker in the January window, while Harry Kane is ruled out of action until April. Parrott posted on Instagram, underlining his delight at agreeing a new Spurs deal.
Tottenham are next in action on February 16 as they travel south to take on Aston Villa, and Parrott could feature on the bench with Spurs looking to maintain their fight for a place in the top four. They sit in fifth, four points behind Chelsea.
Spurs legend Robbie Keane reacted to Parrott’s post, while Tottenham teammate Alli posted three heart emojis to Tottenham’s official Instagram post about the new deal.
