Troy Deeney has told TalkSPORT that he believes Liverpool will win the Premier League title this season, and also predicted this season’s top four – deciding that Tottenham Hotspur would finish in the Champions League spots.
Liverpool failed to hold onto first place in the Premier League as they drew 1-1 with Manchester City – who remain in a lowly 10th place after a tricky start to the 2020-21 campaign. Leicester sit in first, while Spurs are in second.
Arsenal, meanwhile, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday evening at The Emirates – while Manchester United produced an excellent 3-1 away win over Everton. Chelsea also nabbed three points, beating Sheffield United 4-1.
City and Liverpool are still expected to finish in the top two spots, while the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester will fight it out for third and fourth. Deeney thinks Liverpool win the title, and predicted the top four.
“I think the top four, personally, will have Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and [Man] City. Not in that order,” Deeney told TalkSPORT. “I still think Liverpool will win it; City second and then it’s a toss up between Spurs and Chelsea.”

TBR’s view – Leicester need praise
Brendan Rodgers has got his side shining at this early stage in the Premier League – given the amount of injuries his side have suffered. Caglar Soyuncu, Ricardo Pereira and Timothy Castagne remain on the sidelines with injuries.
With those players returning, surely Leicester are only going to get better? They currently sit top and with Jamie Vardy on fire, they have every chance of finishing in the top four. Arsenal are improving, but Sunday proves they remain inconsistent.
Chelsea have finally found the right system, while Manchester United did well on Saturday but the pressure remains. It is anyone’s guess this season, and that includes predicting the top two.
