Troy Deeney has told TalkSPORT (Monday, 09:10am) that Patrick Bamford deserves all the praise he receives after the Leeds United striker scored an excellent hat-trick against Aston Villa on Friday night.
Bamford, 27, has surprised many with his stunning Premier League form – netting six goals in six league games for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. He went into last Friday’s game having netted against Liverpool, Sheffield United and Fulham.
Many Leeds fans were concerned that it could be a long night against Villa, who had previously won all four league games. The Whites also lacked centre-backs Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente, but Bamford took the game by the scruff of the neck.
Bamford scored a stunning hat-trick and Deeney responded when asked about the former Middlesbrough and Chelsea striker – applauding the Englishman for his form after being criticised last term. He also claimed Bamford is a “good finisher”.
