Trevor Sinclair wants new Michail Antonio deal after four-goal masterclass v Norwich

Trevor Sinclair expressed his delight on social media after his former club West Ham recorded a vital win in the Premier League against Norwich City.

The Hammers delivered an eye-catching performance at Carrow Road with a 4-0 victory, with Michail Antonio undoubtedly stealing the headlines by scoring all four goals.

David Moyes’ team moved six points clear of the relegation zone after their success, but for 20th-placed Norwich the result confirms that they will be playing Championship football next season.

Ex-West Ham attacker Sinclair couldn’t contain his excitement on Twitter after the match and was blown away by the performance of Antonio.

He did claim that that the Hammers need to secure the 30-year-old on a new contract at the London Stadium, as his current deal is due to expire in 2021.

Moyes previously claimed (Evening Standard) that any Antonio contract talks will have to wait until the club’s top-flight status is secured.

“Moohassive win for the Hammers and what a performance from Antonio,” Sinclair wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View – Antonio a beast since football returned

Antonio has looked on top of his game since football action resumed, with six goals in his previous four matches proving that he’s someone with great confidence right now.

Despite injury problems during his West Ham career, he’s shown that he can be an integral player when fit and he’s been the rescue for manager Moyes in the last month.

The versatile star has played in so many position during his Hammers career, but his strength, work-rate and improvement in front of goal has shown he’s perfect for the centre-forward position.

There is no reason why the English powerhouse can’t lead the line going into next season if he can keep up his recent form and securing him on a new long-term deal should become a priority.
