Trevor Sinclair has joined a number of Newcastle United fans in taking to Twitter to react to comments made by Jonjo Shelvey on talkSPORT concerning the West Ham United squad.
Saturday’s meeting between the two clubs could have major implications at both ends of the table. West Ham find themselves fourth in the Premier League and could go third with a win.

Newcastle meanwhile, could put themselves on the brink of safety with a positive result. They are 17th, six points clear of the bottom three with a game in hand.
Steve Bruce’s side do go into the fixture off the back of a win. Nevertheless, some may have been taken aback by a claim Shelvey has made about the two squads.

The pair are separated by 23 points and 13 places. But the Magpies midfielder suggested that there is little to pick between the two teams.
“The squad we’ve got on paper, I don’t think theirs is better than ours, to be honest,” he told talkSPORT. “I think we’ve got a great squad, we just haven’t performed to the level we can. It’s only recently we’ve picked up a few better results.
“That’s given us the belief to finish this season strong, then come back next season and kick on.”
Unfortunately for Shelvey, the comments seem to have left many Newcastle fans baffled. Some simply cannot believe that he has made such an argument given the way the table currently looks.
Others however, have suggested that Steve Bruce may feel that it may not be the smartest thing to have said.
If the two squads are of a similar standard, then what does that say about the man in the dugout taking charge of Newcastle?
There was also a reaction from former West Ham man Sinclair, who probably summed up how many felt after hearing Shelvey’s comments.
