Chelsea were given a harsh return to the Champions League after a 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich, and one player quietly put together one of his worst-ever games for the club.
Trevoh Chalobah had a game to forget at the back after he gave his team a nightmare start by scoring an own goal in the 20th minute to give Bayern Munich the perfect start.
Harry Kane went on to score a brace to wrap up a perfect start for his team, while Cole Palmer’s first-ever Champions League goal for Chelsea might’ve given them hope, but it proved to be just a consolation.
Chalobah struggled throughout the game by winning only half of his ground and aerial duels, but he wasn’t the weakest member of Enzo Maresca’s squad on Wednesday night.

Moises Caicedo had a disaster against Bayern Munich
While a lot of attention might have gone on Chalobah for his own goal, or Malo Gusto’s individual error for Bayern Munich’s third, but Moises Caicedo quietly put together one of his worst games.
The defensive midfielder has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers over the past year, but he struggled to deliver when the lights were at their brightest against the German giants.
Caicedo gave away a penalty in the first half to allow Bayern Munich to double their lead as Kane comfortably dispatched his opportunity.
The Ecuador international did not win any aerial duels throughout the game, while on the ground, he only managed to win 60 per cent of his duels.

Caicedo didn’t bring his usual dominance in the middle of the park against Bayern Munich, and that ended up stopping Chelsea from getting to grips with the game.
Chelsea fans were unimpressed by Maresca substituting Reece James rather than Gusto, but a case could easily have been made for Caicedo ending his night earlier as well.
Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the season against Bayern Munich
The loss against Bayern Munich was Chelsea’s first loss of the season, and it means that Maresca’s men have now gone two games in a row without a win since returning from the international break.
Chelsea drew 2-2 against Brentford at the weekend in the Premier League, and now they will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday against Manchester United.
Caicedo will likely retain his place in the heart of Chelsea’s midfield, regardless of his individual performance against Bayern Munich.
