Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold reckons talented teenager Ki-Jana Hoever is the Liverpool youngster that most reminds him of himself.
The England international hailed the club’s decision to hand the 17-year-old a new deal recently, and reckons he can make a similar impact for the club to what he himself has made over the last couple of years.

He told the club’s official website: “The biggest one is probably Ki, a quiet lad who goes about his business. [He] wants to be given an opportunity and take it when he can.
“Obviously the news came out this week that he’d signed a new long-term deal with the club, which is amazing for him and amazing for us as well to have such a promising young talent.
“I would probably say him if I was comparing any of them to me.”

Having made his first-team debut unexpectedly last term in the FA Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Hoever will hope to get a few more games under his belt in 2019/20.
TBR’s view
Given Nathaniel Clyne’s injury woes, there is every chance Hoever will be handed more opportunities this term, with a loan move seemingly not on the agenda.

Klopp has plenty of cover at right-back for Alexander-Arnold, with Joe Gomez, Fabinho and even James Milner and Jordan Henderson all capable of filling in.
Given the level of talent of Hoever though, he should be the man trusted by Jurgen Klopp – after all, his show of faith well and truly worked out with Alexander-Arnold.
