Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has raved about the ability of teammate Alisson Becker and insists that he’s extremely valuable to the side.
Alisson has proven he’s a phenomenal talent since he moved to Anfield in the 2018 summer transfer window and he won the Champions League last year during his first season.
The 27-year-old is now on course for a Premier League title this campaign with the Reds, who face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night in the first leg of a Champions League last-16 tie.
He is a Brazil international that is regarded by many as the best shot-stopper in the world right now and has looked so reliable in net since he joined.
Alisson currently has a record of 14 clean sheets in just 25 games across all competitions this season, while he has an excellent understudy in Adrian behind him trying to push him.
Alexander-Arnold believes that nobody should take for granted what the Liverpool number one is currently achieving.
“We’ve run out of words for him. Unbelievable keeper to have behind you, can’t take him for granted. World-class keeper, probably best in the world. Really grateful to him. From his return from injury, he keeps clean sheets and makes it look easy,” Alexander-Arnold said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool arguably have the best defence in the world right now, which is even without their world-class goalkeeper Alisson backing them up.
On the rare occasions that teams do manage to get past the Liverpool backline they than have to try beat someone with incredible reflexes and also a big presence too.
The South American has the ball-playing abilities to build from the back and he’s earned the right over the last year to be considered the best goalkeeper around right now.
