'Tremendous today': Tottenham fans praise Hugo Lloris, despite Chelsea loss

Tottenham lost out quite comfortably in the end as Chelsea rolled in and took all three points from the London derby this afternoon.

Marcos Alonso’s corner was headed in brilliantly by Thiago Silva to make it 1-0, before Ngolo Kante’s deflected effort meant the mountain was too high for Spurs to try and climb. Antonio Rudiger then rubbed salt into the wound in injury time.

In fairness, too, it could have been more for Chelsea. The Blues came close on numerous occasions to scoring more in the second half. Spurs, meanwhile, looked a bit toothless once again.

However, there was at least one good performance in the Spurs ranks for Tottenham fans to admire. And that came in the form of experienced goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris.

How Hearts became the UK's BIGGEST fan-owned club

The Frenchman had to be at his best to deny Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku on a number of occasions. Indeed, without Lloris, Spurs would most definitely have shipped a few more.

Lloris is still the number one in North London, despite his advancing years.

Twitter, then, was full of comments from fans who wanted praise Lloris, despite Spurs’ loss to Chelsea this afternoon.
