'Tracking him': West Ham are interested in signing 'outstanding' £75m star, journalist claims
West Ham United want to sign James Ward-Prowse this summer and have been tracking him for an extended period of time.
That is what journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on YouTube in an interview with Chris Cowlin.
West Ham’s bitter London rivals Tottenham have been linked with a swoop for Ward-Prowse, but Romano played down their interest.
That could be good news for David Moyes as he seeks to improve his squad this summer with European football at the London Stadium once again next term.
West Ham want Ward-Prowse
Romano said when asked about Ward-Prowse: “West Ham are tracking him (Ward-Prowse) for a long time.
“So at this time I don’t see Tottenham desperate to move for him.
“I was checking a few days ago and there are negotiations.
“We are at such an early stage of the market so let’s see what happens.”
At that price, surely neither Tottenham or West Ham are going anywhere near Ward-Prowse.
The only possible way would be selling Harry Kane or Declan Rice, which would offer up a huge transfer budget with which to sign their England teammate.
But that would probably not make a great deal of sense, so it seems that a lower price would need to be negotiated.
