Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has admitted to Hayters TV that Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer business this summe will only make it more difficult for his side this season.

The 29-year-old missed out on Champions League football last year as they were pipped to 4th place in the Premier League by their bitter rivals – Tottenham Hotspur.

And the Switzerland international has conceded that due to teams spending money in the window, including Spurs, the competition will be more fierce next season.

When asked about Tottenham and Chelsea’s business in the window so far, Xhaka told Hayters TV: “Yeah, every year will be tougher and tougher, because all of these clubs are spending money. But us as well.

“This is the Premier League, you have six, seven or eight teams who anything can happen.”

So far, Spurs have brought in five new signings this summer and are reportedly close to sealing a deal to bring in their sixth in Middlesbrough full-back Djed Spence. Fabrizio Romano claims the 21-year-old has now signed a five-year deal with the club.

Chelsea are also strengthening their side as they have completed the signing of Raheem Sterling on Wednesday and look set to announce Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

But Arsenal have also been busy in the window so far, as they’ve added the ‘amazing’ Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos to their squad.

The Gunners are also working to bring in another Manchester City player, with the Athletic reporting that Arteta is aiming to get Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Emirates.

And Xhaka told Hayters TV that the Arsenal team are up to the challenge and will be ready for the upcoming season.

He added: “I like the competition and the challenge. We want to take it and I believe that we will be ready at the start of the season.”

TBR’s View: Arsenal have done good business so far this summer but need more

Arsenal fans will be disappointed at seemingly missing out on Leeds winger Raphinha and Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez. But the club has done good business so far this summer and it looks like they aren’t done yet.

They’ve added Jesus and in doing so have signed the striker they desperately needed. And it seems that they are still targeting players to plug holes in Arteta’s squad.

The Gunners definitely need to add some more players if they are to keep up with Spurs and Chelsea. But there is plenty of time left in the window and the club are showing great intent so far.
