Tottenham Hotspur reportedly rejected a bid of £25million from Leeds United for defender Juan Foyth earlier this summer with the Whites being strongly linked – and Spurs fans are frustrated on Twitter.
Foyth, 22, has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham and has started just one Premier League match since the arrival of jose Mourinho back in November 2019. He was hooked at half-time in that match, against Norwich City.
The Argentina international has been linked with Leeds on numerous occasions over the past 12 months and following the Whites’ promotion to the top tier, the Yorkshire club were expected to land Foyth – with Marcelo Bielsa a fellow countryman.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Leeds tabled a whopping offer of £25million to sign Foyth, but the bid was rejected by Spurs – even though it would have seen Tottenham make a tidy profit of £17million, after joining for just £8million (Mail).
The report states that a few months after rejecting a permanent offer for Foyth, the defender has now been offered to Spanish trio Villarreal, Valencia and Real Sociedad on loan – as Spurs look to get some game time for their young star.
Tottenham supporters have responded on Twitter to the reported news that their club rejected a move for Foyth from Leeds, and fans are frustrated that they could have raked in a huge sum of money for one of their fringe players.
That cannot be true I’d have snatched their arm off for that 😂😂

As good as I think he is, I would’ve accepted that tbh if it meant getting Škriniar in.
