It’s been quite the past few days for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Japhet Tanganga.
The 20-year-old was surprisingly handed his Premier League debut at the weekend against runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool, an occasion he took completely in his stride.

On Tuesday night, Tanganga started against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup and produced another quality performance.
The Hackney-born youngster started at right-back against Boro and excelled, and there is now great optimism amongst Spurs fans that a new star has been born.
Perhaps Mourinho will continue to put his trust in Tanganga the same way he did at Manchester United with Scott McTominay, who is now a firm crowd favourite at Old Trafford.
TBR’s view – Tanganga Mourinho’s new McTominay
Mourinho gave McTominay his first-team debut for Manchester United, and seemed to trust the youngster a lot as more senior stars underperformed during his tenure.
The Scotland international became a real trusted player for the Portuguese, and is now reaping the rewards of the faith he showed him.

McTominay is now hugely popular at United with a number of supporters touting him as a possible future club captain.
He wouldn’t be where he is now without Mourinho, and Tanganga could well be his next project.
One gets the feeling with Mourinho that when he sees something he likes in a young player, he will back them to flourish – Spurs fans will hope that will be the case with Tanganga.
