Dele Alli has told Sky Sports that he was praising Sergio Reguilon for the pass which helped to create Tottenham Hotspur’s goal against Wolves yesterday.
Alli’s back
Reguilon slipped through Alli with a wonderful weighted ball, which allowed the Tottenham midfielder to get a touch before being upended by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Tottenham were quickly awarded a penalty kick, which Alli duly converted from the spot, to end his goalscoring drought.
And the playmaker was thankful for his Tottenham teammate for providing him with such good service.
He said: “My game has been a little bit different so far this season, a little bit deeper. That’s allowing me to get in the box later and that’s what I like to do.
“It was a great ball by Regi, we were still talking about it at half-time! But happy to get the goal and help the team.”
Starring roles

Reguilon and Alli were two of Tottenham’s standout performers yesterday, as they claimed a 1-0 win at Molineux.
Alli appears to be considered as a key player in Nuno’s side right now, despite his role changing.
Nuno has been keen to get the best out of Alli in a defensive sense, with the England international one of the best players at Spurs at putting pressure on opposition players.
The 25-year-old may not score quite as many goals as he once did starting from such a deep position.
However, he is now really contributing to the side, and the signs are very positive that Alli could have a strong season at Spurs again this time around, after a seriously disappointing year last term.
