Christian Eriksen has told Danish outlet BT that he sustained a bruised thigh during Denmark’s latest win, but insisted that he is hopeful of being fit for Tottenham Hotspur’s next game.
Eriksen played the first-half of the friendly with Luxembourg on Tuesday night. But he did not reemerge after the break.

With the game being a friendly, Eriksen’s absence in the second-half would have probably not caught many off-guard. However, it appears that there is reason for Mauricio Pochettino to be concerned.
Eriksen shared after the game that he sustained an injury for the first-half, but expressed his hope that it will not rule him out upon his return to Tottenham.

“I got a bruised thigh,” he told BT. “It really hurt in the situation. But I don’t think it’s particularly bad, so hopefully I can play again on Saturday.”
It would be incredibly frustrating for Spurs if Eriksen’s injury is more serious than he suspects. There is, obviously, never a good time to lose a player to injury.
But it will be all the more annoying if he is ruled out after a friendly against a country that Denmark should comfortably beat whether Eriksen is playing or not.
The 27-year-old has been well below his best for Spurs this season. But he is arguably one of the players who has the quality to spark a turnaround with one performance.
Losing him to injury – even if it is not too serious – would be another significant blow for Tottenham.
