Daniel Levy could shoot himself in the foot in his chase for Aaron Wan-Bissaka by demanding £30m for Kieran Trippier.
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United remain interested in Trippier. However, Levy’s £30m-plus asking price is putting them off and they are being forced to consider alternatives.
Thomas Meunier is one alternative. But Wan-Bissaka is another. If Spurs refuse to sell Trippier on the cheap, Man United could swoop for Tottenham target Wan-Bissaka instead.
According to The Sun, Spurs want Wan-Bissaka to replace Trippier. The England international’s form has been erratic this season while England U21 starlet Wan-Bissaka has been impressive.
Wan-Bissaka has been one of Crystal Palace’s standout performers with both his attacking and defensive contributions. Many clubs are circling around the highly-rated 21-year-old, who is tipped for a bright future at both club and international level.

With Trippier potentially leaving and Serge Aurier’s future also in doubt, right-back is becoming a priority position in North London.
Wan-Bissaka is the ideal long-term solution in this department. But Levy could price Man United out of their Trippier move, forcing the Red Devils to nip ahead of Tottenham for Wan-Bissaka.
The most sensible solution for Tottenham would be to allow Trippier to move on for less than £30m, taking Manchester United out of the race.
Then, Mauricio Pochettino would be clear to sign £45m-rated Wan-Bissaka as an investment for the future.
