Juan Foyth’s season is not over just yet. After the Champions League final, he will fly out to join the Argentinian national team in the Copa America.

The 21-year-old is named among the defenders in Lionel Scaloni’s squad. Foyth has two Argentina caps to his name but he will hope to add to those in the summer tournament.

Manchester City’s Nicolas Otamendi and ex-Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori are two central defenders vying for the starting spots with Foyth.

But after Foyth’s inclusion, Spurs fans were wondering where two other players were. Goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga and winger Erik Lamela have not been included.

Gazzaniga earned his first senior cap in November and has impressed Tottenham fans when called upon. But two Argentina-based goalkeepers (Franco Armani and Esteban Andrada) and Mexico-based Agustin Marchesin are the three preferred stoppers.

Meanwhile, Lamela has been dropped from Scaloni’s final squad. He was named in the preliminary squad but he has not made the final cut. The 27-year-old is one of 17 players in this position.

Tottenham fans believe Lamela should have been included. Here are some tweets congratulating Foyth but asking about Lamela.
