Tottenham have reportedly been keen on signing attacker Thorgan Hazard from German club Borussia Monchengladbach.

According to Bleacher Report, Spurs have shown interest in the 25-year-old alongside Chelsea, who already have his older brother Eden Hazard as their talisman.

But the report detailed that Borussia Dortmund were leading the race for the Belgian and it now seems they have taken another step towards his signature.

According to Bild, Dortmund are already in talks with Bundesliga rivals Monchengladbach about Hazard and have been quoted a £38million price.

It is understood that Dortmund view the trickster as the ideal successor to Christian Pulisic, who will join Chelsea in the summer.

Spurs appear to have lost ground in the race to land the Monchengladbach sensation and they could massively regret missing out on his sale.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have gone quiet in recent transfer windows due to their imminent huge move to a new stadium, but could miss out on top signings as a result.

Hazard would be a perfect addition to the North London club, as he’s tailor-made for attacking football and his £38million valuation could rise in the next few years making him a possible bargain now.

He’s made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying seven assists in return.

The Belgian winger would give Spurs extra attacking ammunition and it’s a shame that a move to the Premier League may not be on the cards.
