Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko is reportedly a transfer target of Internazionale.
Calciomercato boldly claim the Nerazzurri are keen on signing the Frenchman with the Lilywhites ‘looking to offload him in the summer’.
Sissoko has enjoyed a major renaissance this season after a tough couple of years following his £30 million move from Newcastle United (BBC Sport).
Sissoko struggled initially to convice the Spurs faithful of his worth.
In 2018/19, something has clicked for the midfield dynamo, and he has finally proven to be money well spent.
He’s been so good and consistent that the club would be extremely foolish to try and offload him as Calciomercato are claiming they will try to do.
Sissoko sale would be disastrous after Dembele
Tottenham can’t afford to lose Sissoko because he is now the closest thing to Mousa Dembele the squad has.
The Belgian jumped ship in January to join Guangzhou R&F for £11 million (BBC Sport), and his drive and technical ability will be badly missed.
Sissoko doesn’t quite have the level of skill possessed by Dembele, but he is certainly capable of being that driving force from deep.
He has grown into the holding midfield role having deputised for Dembele during his injury struggles before he departed.
Selling Sissoko would be a silly thing to do as he has finally settled and reached his best form for the club. He brings things to the table that no one else in the squad can.
