Tottenham Hotspur have been warned that Roberto Martinez wouldn’t fix Spurs’ issues at the back.
The north Londoners’ search for a new permanent manager continues after the club sacked Jose Mourinho last month.
The Daily Mail claims Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will not allow his search for a new manager to drag long into the summer.
Martinez, formerly of Swansea, Wigan and Everton, currently manages the Belgium national team, and a report in The Guardian last month claimed he had admirers at Spurs.

The Daily Mail also claimed that the 47-year-old would be interested in the vacancy at Tottenham after the European Championships with the Red Devils.
However, football.london‘s Rob Guest felt that, while Martinez fits Tottenham’s profile and could provide attacking football, the defence wouldn’t really improve.
“Roberto Martinez fits the profile of manager Tottenham are looking for and he would certainly get the team playing some very eye-catching football.
“However, he’s not someone who will fix the team’s issues at the back as his main focus is on attacking rather than defending.
“His Everton team conceded plenty of goals and they really struggled as a result before his dismissal at the end of the 2015/16 season.
“Levy will appoint the man he believes is best for the job at the end of the day and he needs to get this decision right as you don’t want to be a club that constantly hires and fires managers.”
