Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as the Lilywhites look to strengthen their ranks following a poor season.
Spurs have made it to the semi-finals of the Europa League, but their Premier League campaign has been dismal, and they risk finishing in the bottom five.
Tottenham must improve and, while questions are being asked of Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, the squad could certainly do with bolstering.
Now, it has been reported that Tottenham have joined the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid in pursuit of a £38million centre-back inspired by Alessandro Nesta and Sergio Ramos.

Tottenham join Manchester City in race for Lazio’s Mario Gila
The player in question is Mario Gila, who has been making a name for himself at Serie A side Lazio.
Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the 24-year-old Spaniard at the end of the season, according to CaughtOffside.
However, Spurs are reportedly set to have competition from the likes of City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, Lazio are said to be willing to sell Gila leave for a fee of around €40-45 million (£34-38million) in the summer.
What Mario Gila could bring to Tottenham
Gila is a 24-year-old professional footballer who plies his trade at Lazio as a centre-back, though he can also play in defensive midfield and has played at right-back before.
He played for Espanyol in his youth before joining the Real Madrid academy ranks and reaching the fringes of the first team, making two senior appearances for Los Blancos.
Lazio signed Gila, a former Spain Under-21 international, for around £4million in 2022, and he has gone on to make 78 competitive appearances for the Biancocelesti, scoring twice.
Speaking to Lazio’s official channel last year, Gila revealed that Sergio Ramos was his idol, and he also rates Man City’s Josko Gvardiol highly.

“Sergio Ramos is and will always be my idol,” he said, via La Lazio Siamo Noi.
“I love everything about him: his style of play, how he motivates the team, what he transmits to his teammates.
“I was lucky enough to be able to train with him. These days, I really like Gvardiol from Manchester City.”
Gila also revealed he would like remembered at the club like legendary defender Alessandro Nesta.
He said: “I hope I’d be remembered Like Nesta by the fans. I certainly have a different style, but I’d like to leave my mark on this era.
“He’s always on my mind. He arrived at Lazio as a child and left as a man. He earned the respect and love of everyone at the club.”
