Tottenham are interested in signing Franck Kessie, according to AS. Antonio Conte is keen to stamp his authority on the squad and has identified the AC Milan midfielder.
Kessie, 24, will be out of contract in the summer and reports have claimed that he’s keen to sign for Tottenham. Right now, it’s unclear whether Spurs will move in January, or wait until they can land him for free.
Kessie is still in negotiations with Milan over a contract extension. It has been claimed, however, that the two parties are miles apart.
That could see the door swing open for Tottenham and Kessie could prove a stunning capture if Conte gets his man.

Kessie is demanding around £150,000-a-week and that sort of salary shouldn’t really deter Tottenham too much.
The combative midfielder has been at the San Siro since 2019 when he joined from Atalanta. During his time at the club, he has made 196 appearances, scoring 32 goals and claiming 15 assists.
Kessie typically operates in a holding midfield role and he boasts an impressive passing radar. This season he has scored twice for Milan in 12 outings for the club.
Antonio Cassano has previously called the player ‘devastating’ and pundits have run out of superlatives for his performances of late.
His team in Italy could be coming to a close though and Tottenham are rightly eyeing a fantastic swoop to sign the player.
Tottenham want Kessie and fans should be buzzing
This would be a truly tremendous addition to the Tottenham ranks if Conte can get his man. Kessie has been courted by several top clubs and Spurs might need to move quickly.
There is an argument to suggest that Tottenham perhaps don’t have a player like Kessie in their current squad.

Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele are at the club but all have different attributes to those of Kessie.
At 24, Kessie has plenty of time on his side, whilst he also boasts an abundance of experience in the men’s game.
Signing the midfielder would be a great start to life under Conte and would showcase that the club means business under the Italian.
