Tottenham transfer: Spurs fans react to Danny Ings contract reports
Danny Ings could be on his way out of Southampton and Tottenham fans have been discussing his future. The Athletic claims that Ings has turned down a new contract and his future is now up in the air.
The Saints will see their talisman’s contract expire next summer and risk losing him for free. The 28-year-old has been a revelation at St Mary’s Stadium and probably won’t be short of suitors.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for the striker previously. He has stayed loyal to Southampton though and remained the main striker under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Ings is paid £75,000-a-week by his current club and given the contract situation he’s hardly like to cost a fortune.
In 100 games for the Saints, he has scored 46 times for the club. Last season he endured some injury problems but still finished the campaign with 13 goals.
It doesn’t seem as though Ings will kick up a fuss and demand to leave the Saints. A decent offer, however, could tempt the club into a sale before the 2020/21 season gets underway.
Tottenham fans would welcome Ings
Spurs fans are concerned that Harry Kane will leave this summer and after Euro 2020 his future should become clearer.
Regardless of whether he stays or goes, the club will need another striker. Ings could provide the ideal player for Tottenham.
It seems as though Spurs supporters would be all for this deal and hope something can be struck with Southampton.
Here is what they had to say as news emerged over Ings’ contract.
