Tottenham transfer: Reports lists three more players available for transfer
A report by The Athletic has claimed that three more Tottenham players have been made available for transfer by Nuno Espirito Santo this summer.
Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela, and Lucas Moura are the latest trio mentioned on the transfer list at the North London-based outfit.
Toby Alderweireld has told the club he’d like to leave. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Serge Aurier are two others who probably won’t be at Tottenham beyond the summer.
The latest trio perhaps do throw up something of a surprise though. Sissoko, Lamela and Moura were all pretty regular in the team under Jose Mourinho.
However, it would seem as though Espirito Santo is keen to stamp his authority on the squad and wants to make some room for new players.
Lamela is the longest-serving of the three players. He arrived from Roma in 2013 and has made 257 appearances for the club, scoring 37 times.
Moura was the most recent to check in with Tottenham. He joined in 2018 and has become a cult hero at the club thanks to his Champions League heroics during 2018/19.
He scored a hat-trick during the semi-final against Ajax at a time when Tottenham needs to score three times to progress to the final.
Sissoko signed for the club in 2016 and has proved something of a utility man for Spurs during his time at the club.
Changing of the guard: Tottenham right to offload trio
It looks set to be a busy old summer at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It’s fair to say though that a squad overhaul is a long time coming.
Espirito Santo will want to make his own mark on the Tottenham squad and offloading some players makes perfect sense.
Lamela and Sissoko are both on £80,000-a-week and having those two off the wage bill would be a magnificent achievement.
It would allow the club plenty of manoeuvre in the transfer market to add some players ahead of next season.
Moura would perhaps be a shock departure, although he’s another player who Tottenham could arguably replace with relative ease.
