Tottenham transfer news: Spurs eyeing £6m Real Madrid target likened to Eden Hazard
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Oscar Gloukh.
This is according to Portuguese outlet Record, via Sport Witness, who claim Spurs are eyeing the 18-year-old Israel international.
Alongside Tottenham, the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund all have the player ‘referenced’.
In addition, Benfica are reportedly looking at Gloukh too, hence Portugal’s Record covering the story.
However, Spurs and the other suitors are yet to match Tel Aviv’s demands for the teenager, added the report.
Apparently, the Israeli side’s request is ‘well above’ what clubs want to pay for him.
Israeli outlet Sports, via the Daily Record, has reported that Gloukh has a €7million (£6million) clause in his contract.
The youngster is a regular for his club, and boasts an impressive goal contribution tally from midfield and No. 10.
Gloukh has six goals and six assists from 21 appearances in all competitions this season.
His overall tally with Tel Aviv reads 31 games, nine goals and six assists.
Gloukh’s contract with Tel Aviv runs until the summer of 2025.
Long-time Tottenham target?
Tottenham have been linked with Gloukh before.
In July last year, the Sunday Mirror (10/7; page 74) claimed that Spurs made contact about a move for the 18-year-old.
The report also claimed that Tottenham felt they were leading the race for Gloukh’s signature.
Gloukh has proven he’s a cut above in the Israeli league. He’s surely in line for a big move in the coming months.
The fact that multiple top clubs are reportedly eyeing him is testament to his talent and potential.
On Twitter, fans have compared Gloukh’s style of play to the likes of Eden Hazard and Phil Foden.
However, maybe £6million is a bit steep for a player who’s still at the start of his career and hasn’t yet developed a consistent track record at the highest level.
Nonetheless, Gloukh looks like a top talent and surely clubs will make bids either this month or in the summer.
