Tottenham suffered a crushing 2-2 draw away to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night, which leaves them facing a major uphill task to progress from their Champions League group.
Spurs appeared to be heading to a much-needed win when the score was at 2-1, but the game turned when goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was sent off for his tackle on Hirving Lozano.
PSV managed to grab an equaliser late on with their man advantage and it was a major blow to the North London club.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are facing the real possibility of missing out on qualification to the Champions League knockout rounds now and may have to cope with the Europa League as a back-up.
Pochettino certainly did take a gamble with his team selection, as he left in-form attacker Erik Lamela on the bench.

Lamela, 26, has been Spurs best player in the last month and the Argentine maestro is looking back to his very best.
But Pochettino decided to leave him out of the XI against PSV and perhaps his record with injuries played a part.
It was Spurs’ biggest game of the season on Wednesday night and the decision not to start Lamela seriously backfired, as he could have made the difference when the Premier League outfit were on top during large parts of the game.
He was deployed as a substitute instead meaning he should be fresh for the next match against Manchester City, where a Spurs win may be the only was to make up for a horrid European night.
