Tottenham had a shaky start to the season, but they’ve found their feet in recent weeks.
After a 4-1 win against West Ham at the weekend, Tottenham have now won six of their last seven games, and their key players are hitting form at the right time.
Dejan Kulusevski has earned plaudits for his recent performances, while Heung-Min Son made a goalscoring return to the starting XI on Saturday.
Pedro Porro has also earned plenty of praise for his recent performances, and speaking on The Game Football Podcast, Tony Cascarino has hailed the Spaniard.
Indeed, Cascarino was full of praise for Porro and his ability on the ball, claiming that the right-back is technically almost as good as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Tony Cascarino hails Pedro Porro
Cascarino had nothing but good things to say about Porro.
The pundit claimed that while Alexander-Arnold is the number one full-back in terms of technical ability, he reckons that Porro isn’t too far behind the England star.
“Porro is so good on the ball, I mentioned it, Trent is probably number one, but he isn’t far behind, Porro, honestly, technically, watching him it’s like ‘wow, how much skill has he got?’. In dangerous situations, it might come with a price to pay,” Cascarino said.
Porro has been more effective than Alexander-Arnold
Cascarino says that Porro is just behind Alexander-Arnold in terms of technical ability, but the stats tell another story.
Indeed, since the start of last season, Porro has actually outperformed Alexander-Arnold in a number of important metrics.
Porro has four league goals and seven assists to his name in that time, while Alexander-Arnold has just three goals and five assists.
Of course, the two players play in different systems, so it’s not necessarily a fair comparison, but the fact that Porro is outperforming Alexander-Arnold in terms of goal contributions is a testament to his ability.
Tottenham now value Porro at £70m, and given how good he is in an attacking sense, they may be slightly undervaluing the right-back.
Porro does have his issues in a defensive sense, but when you’re asked to play in such an expansive way by your manager, you’re bound to get caught out every now and then.
Tottenham are certainly lucky to have a player as talented as Porro in their team, that’s for sure.
