Tottenham Hotspur are continuing in their pursuit of new players and attentions have now turned to a potential move for Aston Villa target, Rodrigo Bentancur.
Bentancur has been a target for Aston Villa this month. However, Steven Gerrard’s outfit have seen their initial approaches rejected, as Juventus dither over whether to let the Uruguayan star leave or not.
And according to The Daily Mail today, Tottenham have now made their move to sign Bentancur after asking Juve about the potential to do a loan deal. However, as has been the case with a number of Tottenham’s potential dealings, the Turin club deem that offer as unacceptable.

Spurs are desperate to add new faces over the weekend after a number of attempts to land new players failed to pay off. Adama Traore is set for Barcelona, while Luis Diaz has also turned Tottenham down in favour of Liverpool.
Juventus have been the subject of plenty of interest from Premier League sides this month. They finally landed Dusan Vlahovic ahead of Arsenal this week, while midfielder Arthur Melo has also been linked with the Gunners. Weston McKennie has been tipped for Spurs too, while Bentancur is the latest name to emerge.
It’s believed the Turin club are looking for more than £20m to consider selling Bentancur, with the deadline just a few days away.
TBR’s View: Bentancur Better Than Some Options Available For Tottenham
This is going to be a busy few days for Tottenham you feel. Fabio Paratici needs to deliver or there will be some serious questions being asked come Tuesday morning.
Bentancur is a quality addition, mind. Of all the players linked in recent days, the Uruguayan is at least someone who can make a difference to proceedings for Spurs.
The big question now is whether Levy and Paratici can pull it off. If they beat Villa to him, it will at least provide fans with some solace.
