‘Tottenham, thank you’, ‘the new goal machine’: Some fans wowed by Spurs loanee’s display last night

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is currently away from Spurs on loan and is making quite a name for himself.

The 23-year-old came through the Spurs setup and made his first-team debut in 2016, going on to feature play three more times in the FA Cup and League Cup.

However, Carter-Vickers hasn’t featured competitively for Tottenham since 2017, and has been on six loan spells during his time on Spurs’ books.

He impressed on loan at Luton in the second half of last season, helping them stay in the Championship, and has also done well at Bournemouth over the past few months.

Carter-Vickers has made 11 appearances for the Cherries and, last night, got his first goal for the club, a crucial late winner in the 2-1 victory at Bristol City.

Tyreeq Bakinson opened the scoring for the hosts on 38 minutes, but Daniel Bentley’s own goal on the stroke of half time restored parity.

It looked as though the game was on course to finish 1-1, but a far-post header from substitute Phil Billing came off Carter-Vickers’ back and went into the net on 88 minutes.

Carter-Vickers has been impressing at the back and, now he’s also shown he can get in good positions to score, plenty of Bournemouth fans are calling for him to join permanently.
