Tottenham are reportedly interested in South American midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentina international is currently thriving during his loan spell with La Liga club Real Betis from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Marca, Spurs are weighing up a move for the 22-year-old in the summer if they lose talisman Christian Eriksen and Premier League rivals Manchester City are also interested.

It is understood that Real Madrid have also made an enquiry about the availability of the central midfielder.

The report details that Betis have exercised an option to obtain 80 per cent of Lo Celso’s rights from PSG.

Marca’s report further details that Betis would then be prepared to offload him for around £52million after his impressive form in the Spanish top flight.

Spurs need to do everything they can to keep Eriksen on their books, but should not rule out pressing ahead with their interest of the PSG loanee as he could be an exceptional addition.

Lo Celso has dazzled as a creative midfielder for Betis and is a technically gifted ace that could slot nicely into the Spurs XI.

Pochettino’s team needs an extra spark following the exit of Mousa Dembele in January and the Argentine could well provide it.

Lo Celso has 12 goals across all competitions this season to highlight his attacking threat, while he’s tidy in possession and has so much time at his age to get even better.
