Tottenham are reportedly keen on a deal for Liverpool centre-forward Daniel Sturridge.

According to the Mirror in its print edition (12 February, Page 56), Spurs want to snap up the striker when his contract at Anfield expires in the summer.

The report details that the 29-year-old is attracting interest from English clubs and also abroad, but he could be tempted to make the switch to Spurs.

Sturridge is a well known talent in the Premier League and he could be a genius addition by Mauricio Pochettino if his side can snap him up on a free transfer.

The North London club still need a plan B to talisman Harry Kane in attack and his England teammate Sturridge could provide the answer.

Sturridge is a proven goalscorer that would be an excellent second striker option for Spurs and he would be familiar with many of the squad from international duty.

The left-footed dazzler is a fox in the box inside the penalty area and a great finisher on the day, which is why he can be great off the bench.

He has 77 goals Premier League goals during his career so far and it would be far more if it weren’t for bad luck with injuries.

Sturridge has managed to stay clear of injury problems this season with Liverpool and is just struggling for minutes in their team.
