Manchester City teenager Kwaku Oduroh started for Tottenham Hotspur’s under-23s on Monday night, with the 19-year-old on trial with the North London club.

Leeds were looking set to get a little revenge for Antonio Conte’s side’s emphatic win at Elland Road at the weekend. Sam Greenwood scored the opening goal from the penalty spot for the Whites’ under-23s at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Jezreel Davies equalised late on for the home side.

The result sees Spurs’ youngsters extend their run without a win to five games in Premier League 2. Thankfully, they avoided extending their losing run to three.

But it was a notable game for a more positive reason. Tottenham announced Oduroh was starting the game after coming in on trial.

As confirmed by the Twitter account Lilywhite Rose, Oduroh has arrived from Manchester City. He previously captained the Cityzens to the Under-18 Premier League title last year.

It is something of a surprise that City are seemingly open to the prospect of Oduroh leaving. He has featured 11 times in Premier League 2, while he has also played four times in the UEFA Youth League.

Admittedly, he has not made a huge number of starts in the league. He has only completed 90 minutes three times in Premier League 2.

But it may open the door for a potential coup for Tottenham.

Oduroh one to keep an eye out for as Tottenham consider move

Oduroh predominantly plays as a right-back, as he did against Leeds on Monday. But he can also feature at centre-back or central midfield.

He did not have the easiest evening up against Leeds’ tricky wingers, including Amari Miller. However, the Tottenham hierarchy may have only wanted to see a few glimpses given his impressive record with City.

It will be very interesting to see whether Oduroh makes any further appearances for Tottenham’s youngsters, or whether the club decide further down the line to offer him a contract.
