Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in raiding Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan to sign defender Milan Skriniar and are said to have opened talks to land the Slovakian powerhouse – and Spurs supporters have responded on Twitter.
Skriniar, 25, has become renowned as one of Europe’s best defenders over the past few seasons – clocking up 128 appearances in all competitions for Inter since he joined the club in 2017 for a fee believed to be in the region of £18.5million (Goal).
Spurs chose not to renew the contract of Jan Vertonghen earlier this summer, which saw the Belgian veteran move to Benfica on a free transfer. It leaves Jose Mourinho with just Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Spurs have begun initial talks with Inter over a move for Skriniar, but his price tag is a stumbling block. Indeed, Inter want as much as £55million – though Spurs are keen to reduce that figure.
Since that report emerged, CalcioMercato has now claimed that Tottenham representatives have travelled to Milan in order to thrash out a double deal – one for Skriniar and the other for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.
Tottenham supporters have responded to the reported news on Twitter and the overriding feeling is that they believe Skriniar would be a top signing for the north London club. One fan thinks this signing would place them in the “title race”.
