Tottenham Hotspur supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club have joined the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva this summer – after PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed the Brazilian would leave.
Silva, 35, is set to see his contract expire this summer. Eight years, seven Ligue 1 titles and 310 appearances for PSG have come and gone, and now the 88-time Brazil international is due to leave the club on a free transfer.
The Sun have now claimed that Jose Mourinho wants to bring the Brazilian ace to north London this summer, despite earning a whopping £350,000 a week. However, Spurs are not alone in their pursuit of the former AC Milan rock.

Indeed, Arsenal are also keen on luring him to north London – while Carlo Ancelotti is keen to form a reunion with the defender at Everton, after the duo worked together at PSG. Clubs from the MLS, China, Qatar, Japan and Brazil have been linked.
Spurs need a central defender this summer with Jan Vertonghen expected to leave at the end of the season. The Belgian is out of contract at the end of the month but it is believed his contract has been extended until the end of 2019-20.
Spurs supporters reacted to the news that the club are reportedly interested in signing Silva this summer, and many feel he would be an excellent signing – even if Spurs would have to change their wage structure to get the defender.
Such a move would make Silva the club’s highest earner, if Spurs pay what he is earning at PSG – with Harry Kane only on £200,000 a week, as per Spotrac.
