Tottenham supporters react as club reportedly after Bournemouth star Joshua King
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in luring AFC Bournemouth striker Joshua King to north London this summer as Jose Mourinho eyes a back-up striker – and Spurs fans have responded on Twitter to the news that King is being eyed.
Spurs still lack cover for England skipper Kane, with Mourinho making it clear that he wants another striker at the club – with Troy Parrott going on loan to Championship side Millwall. Son Heung-min has now suffered a hamstring injury.
Gareth Bale has joined the club but the 83-time Wales international is expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks, as he regains fitness. It leaves Spurs without cover for Kane, other than the likes of Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn.
The Telegraph have claimed that Spurs are considering a move for the ex-Manchester United striker. The 28-year-old star was left out of Bournemouth’s first two Championship fixtures, not even appearing on the bench – but did play on Sunday, as a sub.
It is believed that King, who has scored 48 goals in 161 Premier League career outings, is valued in the region of £15million. He has a contract at Bournemouth until the summer of 2021, meaning the Cherries are seemingly keen to cash in.
Spurs fans responded to the reports that their club are after King ahead of October 5’s deadline, which is next Monday. Many think he would be a solid addition to Mourinho’s side, in a move that would finally add competition to Kane.
