Tottenham are still keen on signing Middlesbrough full-back, Djed Spence, during the summer transfer window, according to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold.

Spence has been one of the Championship’s most dazzling players this season in a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

It’s been a superb move for both the Reds and Spence. For Middlesbrough, it remains a bit of a mystery as to how and why he doesn’t get in their first-team. However, Boro’s loss is Forest’s gain for now, although the financial gains in the long-term will be felt at The Riverside.

Tottenham are one of the clubs thought to be big fans of Spence. Indeed, it was only in January that reports claimed Spurs missed out on signing Spence by just £3m. As we know, the Forest loanee has kicked on since then and helped his side to the top six.

But this summer could see him move on. And answering questions in his latest Q&A, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has admitted that Fabio Paratici has been to watch Spence again recently. Interestingly, it’s suggested he also had an eye on another Forest player in Brennan Johnson.

Boro are thought to be seeking around £15m for Spence. However, should he help Forest go up, then that price tag could well increase significantly.

TBR’s View: Spence Is Made For Tottenham And The Premier League

The idea of the ‘unbelievable’ Djed Spence flying down the right for Tottenham and improving under Conte is a good one for Spurs fans.

He’s done so, so well in the Championship that the next natural step is a Premier League move. Of course, it’s a huge gulf in class and expectations would be high at Tottenham. But Spence does seem to have it all in the locker.

Spence will leave Middlesbrough for someone sooner or later. Spurs, then, are as good a fit as any right now.
