Tottenham Hotspur got off to a winning start at their amazing new stadium by beating Crystal Palace 2-0 (BBC Sport).
The Spurs senior side finally took to the pitch of the £1 billion venue, and gave supporters a reason to cheer with a winning performance to accompany the grand opening.

The game came 686 days after fans bid farewell to the old White Hart Lane, and the anticipation was high in the build up to the match.
Spurs took their time to grow into the game and no doubt there will have been some nerves amongst the players to get the job done at their new home.
The tension was eased in the second half though thanks to a goal from Heung-min Son, whose name will now go into the history books.

Christian Eriksen then added a second to ensure that Palace would not be spoiling the party.
The win moves Tottenham back into third place above Arsenal in the Premier League table.
