Christian Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots has told the Evening Standard that he believes Tottenham Hotspur are now willing to sell his client, claiming the situation has changed.
The 27-year-old told Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet on Wednesday that he feels it is time to try “something new”. Real Madrid are believed to be interested in Eriksen, with only 12 months left on his current contract.
Eriksen starred for Spurs last season, having a hand in 27 goals during his 51 appearances. He scored 10 goals himself, as well as proving the north London club’s main creative source with 17 assists.
Following Eriksen’s comments, Schoots was asked about his client’s future and he believes that Tottenham could be willing to sell the playmaker given that he has just a year to run on his £70,000-a-week contract.

“Last season there were three clubs, two English and one foreign, interested in paying a huge amount to Spurs,” Schoots said about Eriksen’s situation.
“For the club it was then a no-go area and for Christian not a must-have. I have the impression we are in a new situation now.”
TBR’s view
All pointers are suggesting that Eriksen will leave Tottenham this summer, as Real Madrid look to complete a revamp of their squad this summer. Eden Hazard looks to be a part of that, too.
The only remaining issue over a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is whether Real and Spurs can agree on a fee for the ex-Ajax star. Chairman Daniel Levy will be sure to get as much as possible for the playmaker.
