Almost a year ago Harry Winks told the Evening Standard that his Tottenham teammate Giovani Lo Celso would be a key player for the club going forward.
It would seem that 12 months down the line, Spurs are still waiting for the Argentina playmaker to really set the Premier League alight.
It was November 2019 when Lo Celso had returned to the team after picking up a hip injury in the early stages of his time at Tottenham.

Winks was quick to rave about the midfielder though and made an interesting claim about the former Real Betis player.
He told the Evening Standard: “Gio has come in and been excellent. He’s shown his quality, it’s unfortunate he picked up an injury and wasn’t able to play sooner.
“He’s very technical, he can receive the ball between the lines and he’ll be a key player for us going forward.”
Lo Celso is quite clearly a good player and at £27 million he hasn’t actually cost the club a fortune.
In 48 appearances he has scored five goals and registered three assists and perhaps Jose Mourinho needs more from him.
Lo Celso has found the net on three occasions this season but is yet to register an assist – despite typically operating in the No.10 role.
Consistency
The 24-year-old has started just once in the Premier League and is desperately striving for a regular run of games.
Lo Celso earns £70,000-a-week at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and as a promising signing, he hasn’t quite delivered yet.

Winks’ comments haven’t quite come to life just yet; with Lo Celso far from being considered a key player by Mourinho.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Argentina international can become the key player his teammates predicted him to be at Tottenham.
He’s not caught fire as of yet and the next 12 months could be crucial for Lo Celso.
