Tottenham Hotspur full-back Destiny Udogie has been a revelation for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season.
However, the player himself has admitted that he’s unsure whether his current role at Spurs is “perfect” for him.
Udogie has spoken to Gazzetta dello Sport about how he feels things are going in his maiden season at Tottenham.
The 21-year-old joined Spurs around 18 months ago, but spent the entirety of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Udinese.

Udogie then arrived at Tottenham last summer and has become a key player under Postecoglou playing high up the left flank.
At Udinese, the Italian was the left wing-back in a 3-5-2 position, whereas at Tottenham, he’s an attacking left-back in a 4-2-3-1 setup.
Despite being unsure about his current role under Postecoglou, Udogie says he feels he’s starting to get used to it.
“The defending skills I picked up in Italy are helping me here,” he said.
“I don’t know if it’s the perfect role for me, I’m not used to it. But I often find myself there and I’m starting to acclimatise to it.”
Destiny Udogie one of Tottenham’s standout players
You can’t blame Udogie for feeling a bit uncertain about this new role he’s playing in. This is his first season in this role and as such he’s still getting used to it.
However, you can’t deny that Udogie has had an amazing impact in said role this season. He has been one of Tottenham’s standout players and he looks like he’ll go far.
Players often get positional changes during their careers and this one looks like it has been good for Udogie and Spurs.
At just 21 years of age, he has his whole career ahead of him, and it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop.
