Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has told Swansea City’s official website that he is open to a permanent move to the Welsh club, if the opportunity is there.
The 21-year-old powerhouse has been a regular at Swansea this season, making 3o league appearances in all competitions. He has helped the Swans keep seven clean sheets.
Now the season has ended, USA international Carter-Vickers is set to return to Spurs but his chances of first-team football under Mauricio Pochettino is hugely unlikely – despite having a contract at Spurs until 2021.
Asked about his future, the former Sheffield United loanee stated that he would be more than tempted to remain at Swansea City on a permanent deal – but said it is a decision that is not only his to make.

“I feel I have learnt a lot, and I am pleased to have played so much and I would love to come back one day, although obviously there are a lot of decisions around that which would not be mine,” Carter-Vickers said.
“But it’s something I would be open to it if the opportunity were to be there in the future.”
TBR’s view
If you are Carter-Vickers, you are banging down Mauricio Pochettino’s door in a bid to let you leave. Carter-Vickers has no chance of breaking into the senior side, and a summer exit should be on the horizon.
Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth are first-team centre-back options, with Spurs normally playing with two central defenders. Below those four is Carter-Vickers.
Despite having a contract until the summer of 2021, he has got to go.
