Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has admitted that he’s now doing more in training and that’s helped him to get into favour with current boss Jose Mourinho.
Ndombele moved to Spurs for a club-record £63million (Sky Sports) back in July 2019 and was expected to be a big hit under then-manager Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked just four months later.
The 23-year-old spent the rest of the 2019/20 campaign on the fringes under replacement manager Mourinho, which left major doubts over his future in North London and the Premier League.
But the French powerhouse has completed a U-turn to become a popular figure under the Portuguese boss and he now looks like he’s a part of the best XI.
Ndombele has explained that his increased efforts on the training field and in games has been a big part of his turnaround.
“I think that, yes, I am working a bit differently now. I find myself working harder in training and in the matches. But above all I think I’ve just settled in better,” Ndombele replied when asked how he’s broke into XI, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Mourinho isn’t going to allow any passengers in his starting XI, even the star players Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son do the hard yards off the ball to help the team out.
Despite a horrid start to his Spurs career, it now looks like Ndombele can be a brilliant player moving forward for the club and he’s beginning to show why he was such a highly-rated player when he was signed from Lyon.
He is an all-action central midfielder that is a perfect fit for the Premier League with his pace and power, so it’s great to see his hard work paying off.
