Tottenham star Richarlison hits out at Jamie Carragher on Instagram

Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison has had a go at Jamie Carragher because of the Sky Sports pundit’s ‘deafening silence’ following an incident in Spurs’ defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Antonio Conte’s side suffered a 2-0 loss at the City Ground earlier this week. Richarlison returned from his injury and came off the bench to try and have an impact, but the Brazilian was at the end of a very strong challenge by Orel Mangala.

The last time Tottenham played Nottingham Forest, Richarlison made all the headlines.

The Brazilian decided to do a keepy-up in the middle of the game and was clattered by Brennan Johnson. Although many Spurs fans found it funny, he received a ton of criticism from pundits like Carragher.

The Liverpool legend said at the time, as quoted by The Daily Mail: “Woah! It does wind people up. You can’t do that. But what is he doing? He just winds people up that lad, Richarlison. He winds me up. What do you expect Johnson to do? You’re not condoning that but…”

The £175,000-a-week (SalarySport) Tottenham man hasn’t forgotten Carragher’s criticism. The two have been going at each other for a while now, and Richarlison believes the pundit is wrong to remain silent about Mangala’s tackle on him on Wednesday.

He wrote on his Instagram Strories: “O silencio do @23_carra E ensurdecedor. Vai eu fazer embaixadinha pra ve!!!”

That translates to, as per Liverpool Echo: “The silence of @23_carra [Jamie Carragher] is deafening. Watch me do kick-ups and see what happens.”

It’s understandable why Richarlison is so upset.

It was the Brazilian’s first game back after spending almost a month on the sidelines due to a calf injury. Mangala’s challenge was a really poor one, and Richarlison could’ve seriously hurt himself again.

Thankfully for Spurs and Brazil fans, the 25-year-old came out of it without too much damage. Mangala was rightly shown a second yellow card, but it was too late for Tottenham to make a comeback.

Spurs take on Leeds United next in what will be another very tough game. However, Richarlison is set to start, which is a huge boost for Antonio Conte and Tottenham fans.
