Tottenham star Harry Kane delivers verdict on Gareth Bale's future at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has told JOE’s YouTube channel that while he is unsure if Gareth Bale will remain at Spurs this summer, he did state that he knows Bale is happy with the North London club – and that he is loved by the club’s fans.

Bale, 31, has netted 14 goals in 32 appearances for Spurs this season – finally turning moments of brilliance under Jose Mourinho into consistent genius under interim boss Ryan Mason, who has released the shackles on his Tottenham players.

The Welshman recently stated that the plan is to return to Madrid this summer, but that was with Mourinho at the helm. A new manager, that gives him more of an attacking lease of life, might tempt the ex-Southampton star to remain at Spurs.

It is believed he has the chance to sign on again for Spurs this summer, on another loan, which would take him up to the end of his Madrid contract – and could then join as a free agent. Kane stated it is something Bale needs to discuss this summer.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

“Who knows, that is obviously his decision. I think he has one year left on his Madrid contract. That is something he is going to have to discuss, but of course, we love having him at Spurs,” Kane told JOE’s Youtube channel.

“He’s been at Madrid for quite a few years, maybe that has run it’s course. He might’ve just fancied a change, coming home, he’s loved by the fans. I’m speaking for him but I’m not entirely sure of his situation – but he enjoys playing here.”

TBR’s view – Spurs really need to keep Bale

Bale’s critics have been plentiful this season. Many have questioned whether he still has what it takes to play at this level, many have discussed if his fitness is what it should be, many have even claimed that he would be better in a central role.

What Bale has shown under Mason, though, is that he is still a top, top player and is capable of magic. His hat-trick, albeit against Sheffield United, shows that given the chance, he will score goals. Another loan should be a no-brainer for Spurs.
